Sometimes when lots of things are happening at once (insert whatever thing you’re currently navigating in life, natural disaster, terrible accident, this list can go on and on) we want to do something but we don’t know what to do.
There are lots of ways we can extend and reflect God’s mercy, compassion, and concern! If you’re looking for tangible ways to help in our community, our country, and the world, here are a few ideas (links to organizations where you can learn more or give directly are in the comments):
Locally:
♥️Grace Klein Donation Barrels have been delivered to the church and are in the Education Building and Sanctuary, ready for your donations clothes and shoes!
♥️The Period Pantry in our parking lot is always in need of feminine product donations. Donation bins are in the Education Building and Sanctuary.
♥️We help community members with utility bills, gas cards, and emergency food bags. Designated funds to the Pastor’s Discretionary fund help with these needs.
Nationally/Globally:
♥️UMCOR is active in locations suffering from disasters from the recent floods and fires in the US to needs all over the world.
♥️CWS (Church World Service) and World Relief are both actively involved in the Refugee Resettlement Program that has been cut off from funding this past week and are working to be able to continue caring for refugee families.
What a gift it is to have multiple ways to embrace our community with the transformative love of Christ!
