Spotted at the summer camp.

Another copy of The Entirely True Story of the Fantastical Mesmerist Nora Grey by Kathleen Kaufman all around the states today!

Who will be lucky enough to grab this one?

About the book:

Leaving behind a quiet life of simple comforts, Nairna Liath traverses the Scottish countryside with her charlatan father, Tavish. From remote cottages to rural fairs, the duo scrapes by on paltry coins as Tavish orchestrates “encounters” with the departed, while Nairna interprets tarot cards for those willing to pay for what they wish to hear. But beyond her father’s trickery, Nairna possesses a genuine gift for communicating with the spirit world, one that could get an impoverished country girl branded a witch. A talent inherited from her grandmother, Lottie Liath, widow of a Welsh coalminer, whose story of imprisonment and exploitation in a notorious asylum is calling out to Nairna from four decades past—a warning to break free from the manipulations, greed, and betrayals of others.

What do the cards hold for Nairna’s future?

The big birthday Fairy Book Swap will kick off in stories on Saturday 15th March at 12pm! This is a slight change in schedule, thanks for your understanding!

What is the Fairy Book Swap?

This is an opportunity to connect with book fairies all around the world, either by offering to send a book to a fairy, or by ‘claiming’one that’s on offer.

How does it work?

We will post a question at 12pm GMT on story and anyone who has a book ready to give away, can answer that question, telling us both the title of the book, and the area or areas (such as a country or even ‘worldwide’!) they are happy to send it to. When we get offers, we will post each of these in stories and ask people to reply to ‘claim’ one.

Through Instagram DMs, we match those who offer a book to those who claim that book. It’s then up to the offerers to get the book in the post ✉️ to its lucky new reader.

Important: Make sure your DMs are open to receive messages from so that we can send you any info you need!

How do I offer a book?

Simply reply to the first ‘question’ in our Instagram stories at 12pm GMT on Saturday saying the title of the book and the area you’re willing to post it to. If you have multiple titles to offer that’s great! Just please enter it into the answer box separately each time.

What are the rules?

It’s all based on kindness so we don’t really have rules, however we do ask that you have the book in your possession when you make an offer, and that you send it as soon as you can once you receive the name and address of the recipient. The idea is that you offer up a secondhand book / a book you’ve read, and then cover the cost of postage to get it to the person we match it with 💚

What else should I send?

If you have offered a book, then just that book is perfect! Sometimes fairies add little treats inside and as it’s our birthday, wouldn’t it be lovely to include a birthday card and message? 🤩🎂

Spotted: two copies left at during their book fair with in Clinton Twp!

“I’m sure you believe you know their story from reading that other book, which told you an inspiring tale about four sisters…”

The Book Fairies are excited to be sharing copies of The Other March Sisters by Linda Epstein, Ally Malinenko and Liz Parker… this book is out now in bookstores - but who will be lucky enough to find a hidden copy??

About the book:

Four sisters, each as different as can be. Through the eyes and words of Jo, their characters and destinies became known to millions. Meg, pretty and conventional. Jo, stubborn, tomboyish, and ambitious. Beth, shy and good-natured, a mortal angel readily accepting her fate. And Amy, elegant, frivolous, and shallow. But Jo, for all her insight, could not always know what was in her sisters’ thoughts, or in their hearts.

With Jo away in New York, pursuing her dreams of being a writer, Meg, Beth, and Amy follow their own paths. Meg, newly married with young twins, struggles to find the contentment that Marmee assured her would come with domesticity. Unhappy and unfulfilled, she turns to her garden, finding there not just a hobby but a calling that will allow her to help other women in turn.

Beth knows her time is limited. Still, part of her longs to break out of her suffocating cocoon at home, however briefly. A new acquaintance turns into something more, offering unexpected, quiet joy.

Amy, traveling in Europe while she pursues her goal of becoming an artist, is keenly aware of the expectation that she will save the family by marrying well. Through the course of her journey, she discovers how she can remain true to herself, true to her art, and true to the love that was always meant to be.
