❤️ NATIONAL LATINX HIV/AIDS AWARENESS DAY ❤️

Today, Central Alabama Pride recognizes and celebrates the Latinx community members, advocates, and loved ones impacted by HIV. We honor their resilience, their voices, and the work being done every day to build a healthier, more inclusive future.

Ending HIV stigma begins with education, compassion, and honest conversations. Everyone deserves access to care, support without judgment, and the freedom to live openly and proudly without fear or shame.

Today and every day, let’s stand together to break down barriers, uplift the voices of those affected, and build a community rooted in love, dignity, and acceptance.

Because everyone deserves to be seen, supported, and celebrated. ❤️

💜 HAPPY SPIRIT DAY FROM CENTRAL ALABAMA PRIDE! 💜

Today, we’re going purple to stand in solidarity with LGBTQ+ youth and send a powerful message: You are loved. You are valued. You belong.

Spirit Day is a reminder that no one should have to hide who they are or face bullying because of their identity. Every young person deserves to grow up in a world where they feel safe, supported, and celebrated for exactly who they are.

Let’s show our LGBTQ+ youth that our community stands with them. Wear purple, speak up against bullying, and remind the people around you that kindness, acceptance, and inclusion matter every single day.

💜 Join us in celebrating and standing up for LGBTQ+ youth!

Today, Central Alabama Pride celebrates Indigenous Peoples’ Day and honors the Native nations whose homelands include what is now Alabama, including the Muscogee (Creek), Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, Alabama, Coushatta, and others whose histories are woven into this region.

Indigenous history is not just the past. Indigenous peoples are here today, carrying their cultures forward, building communities, and shaping our shared future. Today is a reminder to listen, learn, and honor their voices and experiences.

We especially celebrate our Two-Spirit and LGBTQ+ Indigenous siblings. You deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated in every part of who you are.

At Central Alabama Pride, we believe solidarity means showing up for one another, especially for communities whose stories have too often been overlooked. Pride means more when everyone has a place to belong.

Today and every day, we honor Indigenous peoples past and present and commit to building a community rooted in respect, dignity, and genuine solidarity.

With love and solidarity,
Central Alabama Pride ❤️

We’re welcoming applications for our Board of Directors, Auxiliary Board, and Advisory Board. If you care about our LGBTQ+ community and have the time, ideas, and willingness to help, we’d love to meet you. There’s a lot of heart in this community, and we want more of y’all at the table.

Applications and background check waivers will be available at our next board meeting on Wednesday, October 14, at SpringHill Suites UAB.
