On August 15, 2026, the Birmingham Black Nurses Association was honored to participate in a meaningful day of community service at Ephesus Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

BBNA perfomed blood pressure screenings and provided education on chronic health conditions.

A special thank you to Ephesus Seventh-Day Adventist Church for welcoming us and to everyone who helped make this service opportunity a success!

After an incredible 31 years of dedicated service to the Department of Veterans Affairs, Dr. Cleveland leaves behind a legacy of leadership, excellence, compassion, and unwavering commitment to those she served.

Throughout her distinguished career, Dr. Cleveland served as the Associate Director for Patient Care Services and Chief Nurse Executive at the Birmingham VA Health Care System, where her vision, expertise, and dedication made a lasting impact on Veterans, nurses, colleagues, and the nursing profession.
