We are approaching the 24 hour mark in the BBTR Winter Auction. We simply cannot thank you enough for your bids and pledges. We have the greatest supporters!!! Tonight, we would like to share a story with you that shows what a “Forever Foster” is. In rescue, sometimes by the time the dogs reach us they have too many physical or emotional problems to be good candidates for adoption. These dogs are placed in a home where they will be cared for in a family environment and their care is supported by BBTR. Tonight we would like you to meet one of our “Forever Fosters”, CZ. This is from her Foster Mom.
CZ came into our rescue with her mother and brother. They all came out of a horrible environment and had not been taken care of. While her mother and brother began to enjoy being around people, playing and enjoying affection, CZ was terrified of everything. Being in a kennel at the clinic was causing her to withdraw even more. The decision was made to place her with an experienced foster parent. Given time and space to find her comfort level, she began to decompress. It took some time but CZ began playing with the other dogs in the home, sleeping on the bed, and nuzzling up to people. She was eating well and gaining weight, but she was still very nervous. She still shuts down if you try to walk her with a harness/collar and leash. Her foster is trying to get her to the point where these aren't so scary for her, but she is taking a long time to adapt. Meanwhile, she loves her canine pals and her human pal. Oh, yeah, and she is a pink Boston - her black and white is a grayish pink and white! She is a special girl!
