The Circle of Hope Cullman Miss Horizon of Hope Pageant is Saturday, April 25 at West Point High School. This is a great event with proceeds benefiting the UAB St. Vincent's Alabama Bruno Cancer Center.

Thanks to a generous gift by UAB St. Vincent’s Foundation Advisory Board Member Jim Wadsworth and his wife Debbie, UAB St. Vincent’s Chilton has expanded its Emergency Department (ED). During a recent ceremony, the ED Waiting Room was named in honor of Jim’s close friend and former colleague, Wayne Puckett.

The project was also funded, in part, by the Chilton County Healthcare Authority. The ED is now classified as a mid-sized ED. This expansion continues UAB St. Vincent’s Chilton’s mission of delivering high-quality healthcare for our community.

Sandy Berglund was honored as a “Volunteer in Philanthropy” at AFP Alabama Chapter’s National Philanthropy Day on November 12 at The Club. When Sandy’s husband, Ted, began treatment for advanced cancer at the UAB St. Vincent’s Bruno Cancer Center, he was on a first-name basis with many of the staff and conversed with them whenever he was there.

“It was during one of those conversations that Ted learned about the center’s aging CT simulator,” said Sandy. “He knew right away that he wanted to give back by helping to replace it.” The Berglunds made a contribution through UAB St. Vincent’s Foundation toward the purchase of a new machine. Now Sandy serves as a member of the UAB St. Vincent’s Foundation Advisory Board—continuing her passion for helping others and honoring the legacy of her late husband.
