We're heading into the 7th hour of the Epic Read-A-Thon! Watch anytime today, and into the night, at epicread.org!

For the past two years, we’ve had the joy of working with Empower Academy, a cohort of students who are new to the country and recently enrolled in Birmingham City Schools. Each classroom is its own small community of English language learners who read and write poems together, share stories from the places they come from and dreams of where they are going.

DISCO’s Epic Read-A-Thon makes this work possible. On Friday, September 18, readers from Birmingham and around the world will read picture books out loud, nonstop, for twenty-four hours to fund another year of workshops like these. Shifts are just ten minutes. Come read with us! Sign up at discobham.com/epic (link in bio).
