Welcome to the Birmingham Regional Independent Athletic Association (BRIAA). This league was originally envisioned as a basketball centric organization and was first named Birmingham Regional Independent Basketball ("BRIB"). Given the immediate success and the support of its member schools, it was decided in 2012 to incorporate cross-country and other sports of interest to the member schools, thei

r families, and their faculties. Effective, June 30, 2013, it was decided to officially change the body's name to Birmingham Regional Independent Athletic Association to better reflect the expansion into other school-based competitive sports. Our goal is to create a positive athletic experience for the players by placing an emphasis on fair play and creating an atmosphere of respect for coaches, players and officials. It is the goal of this league to establish principles that will encourage players to have the desire to develop their athletic skills in years to come for later school competition and for them to consider basketball as a long term part of their wellness lifestyle.

Last Saturday we wrapped up our volleyball season with an all-day tournament at Heritage Christian Academy.

Great job to all the teams, and congratulations to our division champions: Highlands Blue (3rd/4th grade) and Advent (5th/6th grade)
