This Thankful Thursday during National 4-H Week, we want to express our sincere gratitude to the amazing volunteers who make Jefferson County 4-H stronger every day.

Whether you're leading a club, mentoring youth, judging competitions, serving on committees, sharing your expertise, or lending a helping hand at events, your time and dedication make a lasting impact on the lives of young people across our county.

Thank you for helping our youth discover their passions, build confidence, develop leadership skills, and become Beyond Ready for the future. Jefferson County 4-H wouldn't be the same without you!

🌟 National 4-H Week Spotlight: A 4-H Legacy in Action 🌟

From where we started to where we are now, the story of the Short family is a beautiful example of the lasting impact of 4-H.

For more than a decade, Cynthia Short has faithfully served as a Jefferson County 4-H volunteer, leading the Valley Creek Academy 4-H Club and serving on the Jefferson County Council. Her passion has always been helping young people grow in confidence, leadership, teamwork, community service, and hands-on learning. As Cynthia shares, "I am blessed because I am a part of the 4-H family."

Today, we see that impact shining through in her daughter, Grace Short. Over the past 12 years, Grace has grown from an enthusiastic Cloverbud into an outstanding young leader. She currently serves as President of the Valley Creek 4-H Club and is a member of the Jefferson County 4-H Youth Advisory Council. From Citizenship Washington Focus and Midwinter Teen Retreat to co-facilitating a workshop at the National Ignite Conference, Grace continues to represent the very best of 4-H through leadership, service, and a positive spirit that inspires others.

As we celebrate National 4-H Week, we're proud to recognize how 4-H helps grow leaders across generations. Cynthia helped plant the seeds, and Grace is helping them bloom.
