Anchor of Hope Charities is a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit founded by Judy Kendall, a Hoosier with a huge heart, in 2007 to provide clean water, food and support childhood education in rural Zambia, Africa.
AOHC works with local governments and schools in eight provinces in rural areas in Zambia, Africa to provide food, clean water, clothing and education to people and especially children.
AOHC has created food programs for children attending 14 grade schools. The program will expand to reach 40 schools.
AOHC works to improve reading and reading comprehension among children in remote community schools that do not have the resources the Zambian government provides to urban schools.
AOHC is now creating a education program for children in grades K through 7 that will include connecting children all over the world.
AOHC distributes pants, dresses and shoes to school children through the generosity of Jefferson Award-winner Rosario Sherra, a 99-year-old seamstress in Carmel, IN and TOMS in Los Angeles, CA.

What We Do -- With Numbers:
AOHC has worked with TOM’s Shoes for 8 years to provide shoes to school children. We will be providing new shoes twice a year for 45,000 children at 110 schools.
AOHC works with Rise Against Hunger to provide lunches to children at 14 schools; this program will grow, distributing 10,000 children with school lunch.
AOHC has drilled six water wells, providing clean water for approximately 2,500 people in each well district.
AOH is expected to reach 50,000 people with a community outreach programs.
