Today, we honor the legacy of our beloved Chapter President, Alvin Moore, as family and friends gather to celebrate his life and the impact he made on us all.

Alvin was a true servant leader- always with a smile, always with grace and always leading with heart. His dedication to our local chapter, the A-Club, the National Alumni Association and University will never be forgotten. 💜💛

We are forever grateful for the legacy he leaves behind - a legacy of service, strength and unity. May we carry it forward with the same love and commitment he so effortlessly gave.

Rest well, Alvin. You have served us well.

There are no words to fully express the sadness we feel at the passing of our beloved Chapter President, Alvin Moore - a true leader, mentor and friend to many.

We are forever grateful for his vision, his voice and his unwavering service to our chapter locally and the Alumni Association nationally. A proud Alcornite, Alvin carried the values of our Alma Mater with him in every space he entered, leaving a legacy of commitment, excellence and grace.

As we express our sincere condolences to his wife, Mrs. Geraldine Moore and the entire Moore family, we ask you to please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

It saddens us to share we have lost another chapter member. We would like to express sincere condolences to the Peake and Thompson families as we all mourn the passing of fellow Alcornite- Mrs. Lula Mae Thompson Peake. Her memorial service was held last weekend. Mrs. Peake was an active member and recognized as our 2019 Distinguished Chapter member of the year. Her husband, Alcornite Willie Peake was funeralized just a few weeks ago. They have reunited in Heaven. Please continue to keep their son William and the entire family in your thoughts and prayers!!

The Birmingham Alumni Chapter expresses our sincere condolences to Mrs. Lula Peake and the Peake family as we all mourn the passing of our fellow Alcornite- Rev. Coach Willie Peake. Coach Peake was very instrumental in helping local student athletes obtain football scholarships within various institutions. He was also a member of Alcorn’s 1968 SWAC and National Black Football Championship Team. Please continue to keep Mrs. Lula and the entire family in your thoughts and prayers. 💜💛🙏🏾🙏🏾💜💛

The Birmingham Alumni Chapter expresses our sincere condolences to the Dino Thurmon family as we all mourn the passing our fellow Alcornite - Dr. Darius ‘Dino’ Thurmon. Dino was very active in our alumni chapter and was our 2012 Alumni Chapter Member of the year. Thanks Dino for being the ultimate Grill Master at chapter tailgates and our in-house DJ at chapter events. Everyone, please continue to keep the entire family in your thoughts and prayers.
