Wow!!!!!!! I never could have imagined that sharing a single picture of Braelynn ten years ago would ultimately lead to an inclusive playground being built and named in her honor.
For years, I dedicated myself to advocating and fighting for this resource. I knew a truly inclusive space was desperately needed and deserved by the special needs community. My resolve was unshakeable. I held faith that one day, God would align the right people and the right resources to make this vision a reality.
On October 18, 2025 the ribbon cutting felt like a dream come true. It felt so surreal! I am incredibly happy that what I envisioned for my daughter, and for countless children just like her, has finally materialized. I am forever grateful for everyone who played a part!!
Although Braelynn is no longer with us, I am overwhelmingly joyful and excited to know that so many children will now get to enjoy this beautiful place: Birmingham’s FIRST Inclusive Playground (Phase 1) Braelynn’s Way at Bessie Estell Park!💜🙏🏾🙌🏾🎊🎉
We did it Braelynn!!!! 🤍👼🏾🕊️🥹
