***Community Advisory***
Next Wednesday July 6, 2022 at approximately 1:00pm, the Old Glory Relay will be making its way through the City of Hoover headed to The World Games Opening Ceremony in Birmingham. It will enter the City limits from Parkwood Road, turn right on Highway 150, turn left on Preserve Parkway, then onto Patton Chapel Road, turn right on Highway 31 south, then left into Hoover City Hall.
The relay will then go up Highway 31 north, where it will be passed off at Vestavia Hills City Hall. If you want to watch the relay go by, please do not park directly on roadways (especially Highway 150 or Highway 31) for everyone’s safety. Although roads will remain open, please use caution in these areas as the relay makes its way through the City.
Information about the Relay-
The Old Glory Relay is a national movement showcasing the strength, grit, and commitment of American veterans to support their well-being. Throughout the 44-day event, thousands of supporters will unite to walk, ruck, run, push, and cycle a single American flag from Washington, DC to Birmingham, AL, to The World Games presented by Airbus opening ceremony.
