Thank you Ethan for proudly representing Team RWB in the Magic City Half Marathon. The Magic City Half has graciously donated bibs over the years to Team RWB to show love to its Birmingham Veterans and we value our relationship with them and many races in our wonderful city.

It was a family affair with his brother crushing his first 1/2 with a great time and Ethan’s wife and dad volunteering at the aid station. We are proud to have you and your family serving Team RWB and for you toting Old Glory 🇺🇸

Feel good story for Veterans Day.

One of my SNCO’s found some documents that included a Purple Heart decoration, which is awarded in the name of the President, to those wounded or killed while serving. This medal was lost, misplaced, or ended up in her hands and she trusted Team RWB to find the recipient or family to honor this soldier’s efforts and return it to the proper hands.

Steve and Jim, our Birmingham Eagles, went to work and through the VA Hospital, was able to place it back in the hands of the rightful recipient, Mr. Dorsey. While I wasn’t there to see him re-receive it, I can’t help but be thankful for his service, proud of our RWB folks for ensuring its delivery, and wanted to share this story with you.

There are relics all around us. Some decorations, markers, statues, museums, & some forgotten or lost/found in storage—our great country created days that are dedicated to remembering that same service from back then, like Memorial Day for the fallen or for all service men and woman, Veterans Day.

We are all on our way to becoming relics ourselves, what a great reminder for us all to reconnect with service, attach/re-connect meaning to others service, & take action so that actions of a valiant few aren’t lost forever, but found and returned with the grateful hearts we should all have.

We're less than 50 days away until the 2022 Veterans Remembrance Ruck. Make sure to get registered and invite a friend to the race. Just as in years past; there will be a team ruck, individual ruck, 5k race and family fun run.

This year our challenges are brought to you by Southern Company's VETNET program. The challenges will be similar to the past with physical and mental challenges.

Register today and we'll see you on September 24th.

Next Wednesday July 6, 2022 at approximately 1:00pm, the Old Glory Relay will be making its way through the City of Hoover headed to The World Games Opening Ceremony in Birmingham. It will enter the City limits from Parkwood Road, turn right on Highway 150, turn left on Preserve Parkway, then onto Patton Chapel Road, turn right on Highway 31 south, then left into Hoover City Hall.

The relay will then go up Highway 31 north, where it will be passed off at Vestavia Hills City Hall. Although roads will remain open, please use caution in these areas as the relay makes its way through the City.
