Members of Glenwood’s Adult Residential team were proud to attend AT Alabama Conference 2026 for the first time! 💚

The team gained practical ideas for using assistive technology to promote independence, safety, inclusion, and quality of life. They also explored how accessibility, communication, and environmental barriers can impact participation and how thoughtful design can better meet individual needs.

We’re excited to bring these ideas back to Glenwood and continue Empowering Families, Supporting Futures.

Four Glenwood individuals had an exciting opportunity today, traveling to Montgomery to participate in the inaugural Peer Specialist Training Program hosted by the Alabama Department of Mental Health.

The training focused on self-advocacy, disability rights, independence, community inclusion and using personal experiences to support and empower others.

We are incredibly proud of our participants for being part of this inaugural group and for taking an important step toward becoming peer leaders and advocates in their communities. 💚
