What a joyful evening at the Central Alabama Pride Parade! 🌈

More than 100 Episcopalians from across the Diocese came together to walk in support of our LGBTQ+ siblings, sharing a message of God's love, welcome, and belonging. Along the parade route, we handed out Diocese pocket hugs as a small reminder that every person is loved, valued, and cherished.

The night was filled with fellowship, community, laughter, and celebration. We are grateful to everyone who walked, cheered, handed out hugs, and helped make our presence a visible sign of God's inclusive love.

Thank you to all who joined us in showing Alabama that the Episcopal Church welcomes YOU. ❤️

🕊️Today, we remember Jane Pounds, Bart Rainey, and Sharon Yeager, beloved members of Saint Stephen's Episcopal Church in Birmingham, whose lives were tragically taken in an act of violence on June 16, 2022.

On this solemn anniversary, we honor their memory, their faith, and their deep hospitality, and invite you to join us in prayer as we lift these saints, their families, and the Saint Stephen’s community, asking God for continued healing, peace, and strength.

“Almighty and everlasting God, who kindled the flame of your love in the hearts of martyrs of the Church: Grant to us, your humble servants, a like faith and power of love…” Amen.

We give thanks for God's continuing work in the lives of His people.

“Keep, O Lord, your household the Church in your steadfast faith and love, that through your grace we may proclaim your truth with boldness, and minister your justice with compassion; for the sake of our Savior Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.”

A blessed Second Sunday after Pentecost! Bishop G joined St. Timothy’s Church in Athens for her annual visit, where she celebrated two baptisms, eight confirmations, and two reaffirmations. Later in the day, she worshiped with the faithful community at Calvary Church in Oneonta.

We give thanks for all the individuals who have taken a significant step in their faith journey, and we pray that they may continue to grow into the full stature of Christ.

"O God, from whom all good proceeds: Grant that by your inspiration we may think those things that are right, and by your merciful guiding may do them; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen."
