Luca was an atheist. Elena was a nominal Catholic. Their marriage was struggling, and their lives were marked by hopelessness.

Then God used a friendship with IMB missionaries Jason and Lizzy Davis to begin changing their story. Over time, Luca and Elena chose to follow Jesus—and today their family is actively serving in the Davises’ church plant in Rome! 🙌

The gospel doesn’t simply offer hope. It transforms lives.

🙏 Pray that God would continue changing hearts and transforming lives throughout the Davises’ neighborhood.

🙏 Pray for our missionaries of the week, Greg and Grace Gibson.

Greg Gibson and his family planted Nations Church in Washington, DC—a city where the nations have already come. Their congregation includes people from Sri Lanka, Ukraine, Ethiopia, Korea, China, Colombia, Peru, and Vietnam.

“Our vision is to reach the nations by loving our neighbors,” Greg said. Nations Church regularly invites international pastors from DC to share how God is at work among their ethnic communities. “If we can plant churches here, we believe God may use us to help plant churches globally as well.”

Just weeks after its public launch in March 2024, Nations Church sent its first overseas missionary to Warsaw, Poland, to serve Ukrainian refugees. The church is already living out its goal of being a multiplying church—locally and globally.

PRAY God would grow Nations Church and allow it to plant numerous churches locally and globally.

🧠 Today is World Mental Health Day.

Mental health impacts every one of us—but as Christians, we can offer something the world can’t: compassion rooted in Christ’s love and hope that endures through every struggle.

Loneliness or isolation can deeply affect our mental health and well-being, reminding us of our need for meaningful connection. Through Project HELP: Loneliness, WMU equips individuals, missions discipleship groups, and churches to compassionately respond to loneliness and open doors to share the hope of Jesus.

We love sharing success stories from Christian Job Corps (CJC), one of our compassion ministries! Check out this testimony from a CJC site in Tennessee:

"One of our online High School Equivalency students became very discouraged after failing the math and language exams on her first attempt. She was facing several personal challenges at the time, including family health concerns, financial hardships, and the tragic loss of a family member. She nearly gave up.

"Her tutor continued to meet with her consistently and speak truth and encouragement into her life. With renewed confidence and educational support, she passed the tests for math, language, and reading. She now fully believes she will earn her High School Equivalency diploma and often says her tutor helped her believe in herself when she had almost lost hope.

Her tutor later shared that she truly believes God placed her with the right student at the right time." 💛
