Mitchell's Place, Inc. We strive to unlock the potential of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Note: Translator and translated documents are available upon request.

Mitchell’s Place provides an array of outcome-based, early intervention programs specifically designed to enable children with autism to reach their highest potential before transitioning to a public-school setting. The Early Learning Preschool (ELP) is an Accredited program and consists of four classrooms serving children ages two to six. Operating year round, it is an inclusive program serving both children with autism and an equal number of typically developing peers. Teach Me is another early intervention program involving an intense individualized curriculum for children with autism who have extensive needs in a one-on-one setting. A third educational offering at Mitchell’s Place is the After-School Social Groups that teach children how to socially interact in a group setting. In this program, children ages six to ten learn social, recreational and life skills. Additionally, Mitchell’s Place offers Psychology, Psychiatry, Speech, Occupational, and Feeding Therapy; as well as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy services in an outpatient model. It's Worker Wednesday, and we're spotlighting Gracie from our Related Services team! Gracie joined the Mitchell’s Place team in March of this year, and her favorite part of her workday is seeing our kiddos’ smiling faces! When she was little, Gracie wanted to be a teacher. Today, she loves using AAC to help our kiddos communicate! We’re so thankful to have Gracie on our team! 💛

Miracle Monday! This week, we’re spotlighting Suede from our Ladybugs class! Suede has been working hard on developing her communication, fine motor, and early math skills through fun, hands-on classroom activities! During a sailboat coloring activity, she practiced expressing her wants and needs by requesting different colored crayons and communicating when she was finished.

She also explored colors and spatial awareness through a traffic light painting activity, working on matching colors and painting within the circles! During a big vs. small cars activity, Suede practiced identifying different sizes and building her understanding of measurement concepts. We’re so proud of the progress Suede is making and can't wait to see her continue to grow!
