The Magic City Acceptance Project (MCAP) is a collaboration of community members, youth activists, academics, artists, clergy and others who are interested in providing their insights and support to develop conferences and trainings, identify emergent LGBTQ community topics, and prioritize critical gaps in service to the LGBTQ community. Together, we can work to create a more affirming Alabama.

Our work is guided by families and youth and is focused on practice that results in positive outcomes and a positive future for le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, q***r, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth and families in our community. We provide trainings, conferences, resources, networking opportunities and a platform for community collaborations. Previous trainings include: The National Association of Social Workers– AL Chapter, EEOC, Alabama Department of Public Health, Gateway, DHR, Shelby County Juvenile Court and many more! Meetings occur quarterly on the third Wednesday from 3:30-5:00 PM. Meeting locations vary so follow us on Facebook at: Magic City Acceptance Project, or email [email protected] if you would like to be added to our mailing list!
