🌟 Walking to Remember Team Highlight: Claire’s Army 🌟

For more than 30 years, Claire’s Army has walked in honor and memory of Claire Briggs—a vibrant, wonderfully creative woman who lived life to the fullest. Claire died from Alzheimer’s in 1997 at just 64.

Over the years, Alzheimer’s has taken more beloved members of this family: Julia, the second wife of Claire’s devoted husband; Bill Bolen, remembered by many in Alabama for his kindness and humility; and Lory Whitaker, whose infectious laugh and smile lit up a room. Lory died in 2023 at 65.

Their family’s words capture why they keep walking: “We are heartbroken to have lost so many loved ones at the hands of one disease, so we soldier on in their memory, praying for a cure.”
