We hope everyone is well this awesome Black History Month!

As continue into February 2023, unfortunately there are still so many individuals and families incurring difficulties paying rent, mortgage, utilities, grocery bills and more.
Please see the below for a few updates on current housing/rental assistance programs.
(Our Restoration Food Pantry operates via appt., T-Th and can be reached at 230-4282 or [email protected] for scheduling.)

Mortgage Assistance AL reopened their application process this past Monday and they are in the process of accepting applications for homeowners affected by COVID for up to 18 months (past due & current balances).

Please see the information below regarding The Warming Station for the week for our unsheltered friends. Supplies and meals are graciously requested, if you or someone you know may be able to assist.

Average of 75 guests, minimum of 40, staying per night, starting tomorrow, Wednesday through Friday.

Possible/suggested meal items are: soups, chili, pasta, etc. but whatever is in your heart to give/provide, please do so.

"VLB's first expungement clinic will be held on 11/4. Potential participants should call for a screening no later than October 21s by calling 205-564-6080 on Tuesdays and Thursdays between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. The person seeking expungement must be the one to call, but it should be fine for a caseworker to be there to assist when calling.

These are VLB's requirements for this specfifc clinic:

They must live in Jefferson County
They must be trying to dismiss a charge filed in Jefferson County's Birmingham Division (not Bessemer)
They must be able to provide some proof of income
They must financially qualify by being

It's never too early for our children (or an individual of any age), to know what to do and how to do it in case an emergency arises.
