EPISODE 8 IS HERE! | Striving for a Healthier You

What happens when the experiences we have as children continue to affect us as adults?

In Episode 8, I sit down with Danna Perdue-Melton, M.Ed., LPC, RPT, IMH-E®, to have an important conversation about Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and their impact across the lifespan.

We talk about:

✨ What ACEs are and why they matter
✨ How childhood adversity can show up in adulthood
✨ The connection between ACEs and mental, physical, and social well-being
✨ How adversity can affect relationships, emotional regulation, and self-esteem
✨ Intergenerational trauma and breaking unhealthy cycles
✨ The role of therapy in healing
✨ Resilience, healthy attachment, and creating a healthier future

Our childhood experiences can shape us, but they don’t have to define our future. Healing can begin with understanding, support, and a willingness to break the cycle.

What a beautiful and transformative weekend at the Boundaries & Becoming Retreat! 🌿✨

From heartfelt conversations and moments of reflection to laughter, healing, and genuine connection, this weekend reminded us of the power of creating safe spaces where Black women can release, reconnect, and thrive with intention.

We are deeply grateful for every woman who showed up, shared her heart, and poured into this unforgettable experience. The retreat may have ended, but the connections made and the journey of becoming will continue.

Here’s to healthier boundaries, renewed purpose, and the beautiful women we are becoming. 💚
