Come experience SEEDFEST 26 and bring your clothing donations by the Be Kind Birmingham tent while you’re there. We’re honored to be part of SEEDFEST again this year—and even more honored to have been chosen as the recipient of the clothing drive donations. 💚

Enjoy the Black Farmers Expo, farmers market, food trucks, free will drafting, merchandise, and a live performance by the Birmingham Youth Fellowship Choir from America’s Got Talent!

💚 September is Hunger Action Month!

Birmingham Park and Recreation is proud to support the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama and Birmingham City Councilor Sonja Smith for a community food distribution at Legion Field.

🥫 450 households will be served on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

A HUGE thank you to Mrs. Karin and Mr. Glenn, the wonderful people behind May and Gray, for absolutely blowing us away with their generosity. 💚

You cannot tell me this partnership is anything but God.

Less than a month ago, we asked our community for children’s clothing. They had no idea. They found Be Kind Birmingham through one of our partner sites and reached out with exactly what we needed. And the rest is history.

Their generosity also gave me the perfect excuse to take a much needed mental health day disguised as a workday in one of my favorite places, Auburn. I walked around campus, visited my old dorm and Haley Center, and of course grabbed a Toomer’s lemonade.

On the way there, Ice Cube’s “It Was a Good Day,” one of Bubba’s favorites, started playing as we headed to one of our favorite places. Fitting? Absolutely. A little “hey” from Bubba? Definitely. 💚

But the best part of the entire day was what came back to Birmingham with us.

Box after box was filled with brand new children’s clothing, gloves, scarves and hats. But even more than that, those boxes were filled with hope, warmth, confidence and love for families throughout our community.
