Dear Families,

Thank you so much for your interest in Camp Cosmos this summer. We were truly excited about the opportunity to serve your scholar through a fun, enriching experience rooted in creativity, exploration, and growth.

Unfortunately, due to recent district-wide budget cuts, Birmingham City Schools is now requiring that Genius work directly with school principals and utilize their individual school budgets for any summer programming. This is a shift from previous years, when we were able to partner with the district more broadly to support Camp Cosmos.

As of now, no elementary school principal has confirmed a partnership for this summer. We encourage you to connect with your child’s principal to learn about any other opportunities that may be available through your school or community.

If anything changes on our end or a partnership does come through, I will be sure to reach out right away.

Again, thank you for your continued interest and support. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and hope to collaborate again in the future.

Day One of Camp Fire 2024 was a blast! 🚀Our campers kicked off the summer with big smiles & endless enthusiasm and energy. A special thank you to our AMAZING parents who are raising such bright stars, our teachers (Mrs. Lee and Dr. Dailey), camp counselors, volunteers, community partners, and to Huffman Academy and Birmingham City Schools for the opportunity to support student summer learning! Tomorrow, our Camp Fire adventure begins! 🚀 We are excited to welcome 67 young geniuses from 12 different schools. With the support of 23 community partners and sponsors, we're set for 100 hours of hands-on learning and fun.

We are incredibly excited to meet all our campers and begin this journey of growth and exploration together. Thank you to everyone who is making all of this possible. Here's to a summer full of new experiences and lasting memories!
