And finally, our fourth finalist for 2026 – we want to introduce you to Urban Hope Development. At a Fairfield middle school, and during summer camps, tutors are coaching students to become better readers and teaching Bible studies. SITE VISIT is WEDNESDAY 4/22 - see email for details.
They are asking for $85,000 to expanding their reading intervention and tutoring within Fairfield. They are currently tutoring and providing intervention services in Fairfield Middle School and Glen Oaks Intermediate schools in the city of Fairfield. Their program will expand to be able to serve more students with trained interventionists and tutors in the middle school. They will be hiring an Education Program Manager to assist with the tutoring. This person will be trained in the Wilson Education Systems to be an effective resource as well as an active tutor. The new hire will assist with enrolling students in our tutoring program as well as planning leading up to and implementation of their UHope Success Academy during the month of June each year.
