Today, the Scouts and families had the honor of remembering and honoring our veterans by placing new American flags on their graves. 🇺🇸

This small act of service is a meaningful way for us to show our gratitude to the brave men and women who served our country and made sacrifices for our freedoms. We are proud to teach our Scouts the importance of respect, service, and remembrance.

Thank you to all of our veterans — we will never forget your service and sacrifice. ❤️🤍💙

Last evening we had the pleasure of being invited by Pack 597 to a presentation by —archaeologist Jim Wosochlo! He shared artifacts ranging from the Ice Age all the way to more recent history, including items from early humans to Native American cultures. Thank you Mr. Wosochlo and Pack 597.

Yesterday, 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝟓𝟗𝟓 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐃𝐞𝐧 visited 𝐒𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐳 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦 in Mohnton, where they received a tour and learned how the animals are cared for. The group was educated on feeding routines, cleaning stalls, and providing additional nutrients for animals that are nursing or pregnant. They also discussed rotating grazing fields and how chickens help maintain healthy land and herds by eating parasites and naturally fertilizing the soil.

We also can’t forget that we had the opportunity to hold and pet some amazing baby sheep, as well as meet adorable and friendly goats, Highland cows, and alpacas.

On 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟐, our 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐬 will be visiting 𝐒𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐳 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐡𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐧, 𝐏𝐀, where they will be helping teach our Scouts about 𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 as part of earning their 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭.⁣

Yesterday at our March Pack meeting, we had the pleasure of welcoming 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐞, who presented their “𝐇𝐮𝐠 𝐚 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐞” program. This program teaches both youth and adults what to do if they become lost in the woods.

They shared a great video and many helpful tips about staying calm, making smart choices, and increasing your chances of being found. They also discussed precautionary steps parents can take to help prepare their children and explained some of the techniques, tools, and methods their team uses when searching for a missing person.

As Scouts, we are familiar with the 𝟔 𝐡𝐢𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬:

First aid kit
Water bottle
Flashlight
Trail food
Sun protection
Whistle

After learning from the Berks Search and Rescue team, we discovered we should really add a 𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥: 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐛𝐚𝐠. A simple trash bag can be incredibly useful—it can be used for 𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐭𝐡, 𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡. It’s a lightweight item with many practical uses on a hike.

A huge 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 for taking the time to come out on a Sunday and share their knowledge with our Scouts. We truly appreciate the valuable lessons and safety tips you provided!

A Scout is Reverent

Pack 595 celebrated Scout Sunday on February 1, 2026.

We are incredibly proud of our three Scouts who received their Religious Award this year. Their dedication, faith, and hard work truly shine, and this achievement is something to be very proud of.

We also want to give a heartfelt congratulations to one of our amazing Den Leaders, who was honored for her commitment and service to our Scouts—especially her dedication to supporting the religious portion of our program.

A sincere thank you to St. Mark’s for sponsoring this religious program and for their continued support of Pack 595. We are grateful for your partnership and encouragement.
