BREAKING: CHILD ABDUCTION REPORTED IN WEST VIRGINIA

UPDATE: The vehicle has been located at Suncrest Town Center, but the child and male remain MISSING.

Anyone in the area please be on the lookout for this male and child. Call 911 immediately.

The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office says deputies are investigating a reported child abduction involving 9-year-old Jackson Blaney.

Authorities say Sean Blaney reportedly took his nephew, Jackson, for a walk before taking the child’s father’s silver 2019 Toyota and leaving with the child.

Jackson is described as having blonde, medium-length hair and being tall for his age. Sean Blaney is described as having long brown hair and may be wearing a black cowboy hat and brown cowboy boots.

The vehicle reportedly bears West Virginia registration ONY628.

Deputies are working with West Virginia State Police to activate an AMBER Alert. More information is expected to be released.

Starting tomorrow we will begin selling rubber ducks for the duck derby! The ducky derby will be on Sept.5th at Birch River Days. Students may bring money to school to purchase a duck! Parents and community member may also purchase ducks at the school during school hours! All proceeds will go towards BRE. The lucky duck that wins first place will be awarded $100!! We will also be set up at Birch River Days selling ducks. The race will take place after the parade!

The community is welcome to stop by BRE to purchase a duck!
