Yesterday was the day! Our team showed up, ready to pack some holiday giving boxes - and we did just that - again, and again, and again! Cornell Cooperative Extension-Broome County ran a well-oiled machine! Each person had a station and we were responsible for making sure our item was added to each box. You'll notice Draya and Darlene hard at work, taping and loading boxes! All boxes will be distributed to families identified in local school districts. Whatever you are celebrating this winter season - we wish you joy, peace, and comfort.

It was so awesome to come alongside multiple organizations to participate in this volunteer opportunity - THANK YOU all!!

Last night we hosted our Annual Donor Event at the Binghamton Country Club. Not only was there delicious food, festive winter decorations and incredible service, but those who attended made the night a true gift!

We began the evening with a presentation on legacy giving by two of our board members and one committee member! Thank you Greg, Jamye and Beth. They presented on tax options, donor advised funds, as well as the difference between QMCs, Charitable Trusts, and other legacy vehicles. There was great conversation and those in attendance who already hold a donor advised fund with us had good insight and some who do not have a fund with us asked thoughtful questions to better understand their options.

After the educational component, the group trickled into the main ballroom, where we ate, drank, and socialized merrily!

Mark, our board president gave a brief overview of the year and milestones that the Foundation reached including staying true to who we are in the midst of a challenging federal environment.

Tina then presented our "3 Done, 3 To Come" presentation highlighting where we've been in 2025 - from general, multi-year operating, to new partnerships, and looking forward to 2026 initiatives, including our first round of grants to be announced for the Catskills Campaign for the Future and enhancing our Women's Fund Empowerment Society engagement.

Thank you to all who attended! Board members, grantee recipients, donors, volunteers and partners.

We extend our sincere thanks to The Agency and The Community Foundation for South Central NY for their support of the Holiday Giving Box program. Their contribution helps provide families across Broome County with a $50 holiday meal box featuring a turkey, sides, fresh produce, and dessert from a local bakery. With a community-wide goal of distributing 425 boxes this season, their partnership strengthens an effort that brings meaningful support to local households.

The Holiday Giving Box is a partnership between CHOW, Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County, Broome-Tioga BOCES School Nutrition Services, The Leadership Alliance, and Broome County.

FRIENDS - we want to spotlight Nii, owner of Dorothey's Small Batch Bakery. We ordered Nii's delicious cookies to deliver to our new neighbors. He delivered! We ordered 25 dz. - Look at those fantastic cookies. ๐Ÿ˜
The name of his bakery is a tribute to his family. His grandmother's name is Dorothy, and his is Dortey, so he blended the two and added an "e" to create something "uniquely ours," said Nii.

If you're looking for cookies, scones, cheesecake, cake or custom birthday treats, show this entrepreneur some love!
