Established 70 years ago, Binghamton University Women is a membership organization that brings together faculty, staff, retirees and spouses to build community. Coming together as a community since 1947

Whether you are well-connected, want to get connected, or want to reconnect, join Binghamton University Women building a community of extraordinary women. We are a social organization that brings

together women from across the campus – staff, faculty, retirees, spouses and partners – for fellowship and service. You can be a volunteer leader or just get a boost recognizing familiar (and friendly) faces on campus, at events or at your favorite local grocery store. And there are tons of opportunities in between! The membership drive launches in August in time for the fall membership meeting in when classes resume in the fall (but you can join anytime!). Dues support Binghamton University Women‐sponsored programs, plus two endowed student scholarships, and awards. We look forward to spending time with you.

Hiking Group Update, care of Karen:
The weather improved greatly as we assembled at the beach parking lot for our morning hike.
Bet, Roz, Wanda, Shelly & Layla, Peter, Joyce, Cheri & K-9 Reggie, Dora & I were energized by the summer-like weather that prevailed. Our first picnic of the year went well & gave us more exposure to the outdoors.

Next week we will hike at IBM Glen off Robinson Hill Road. Meet in the parking lot at 10am.
We will try for another picnic lunch, so bring a chair for yourself too.

Hiking group update care of Karen:
Spring weather seemed to arrive at my home Tuesday morning with warm sunshine, blue skies & temperatures in the 60's. This was not the case at Greenwood Park. Cold winds were blowing over the lake hitting us in the parking lot which overlooks the lake. This made us reconsider our
wardrobes. Unfortunately, I left my warm jacket at home. My hiking companions were quick to lend me a scarf & shawl, which saved the day. Bet, Cheri, Roz, Helena, Shelly & Layla, Dora, &
myself were the hikers today.

The woods were still asleep with not much sign of spring color, but the path was dry & the trees blocked the wind. Toni Norton & daughter Wendy joined us for lunch which made for a happy event. We also celebrated Dora & Shelly's birthdays with cupcakes supplied by Cheri.

Next week we will hike at Chenango Valley State Park & have our first picnic lunch of the year if proper conditions persist. Meet at the beach parking lot at 10am.

Thanks to everyone who came out last Friday to clean up the Memorial Garden for the Global Day of Service. We spread about 25 yards of mulch and left the space looking beautiful and bright!

Hiking Group update care of Karen:

We had the first beautiful day of spring this morning as Cathy, Dora, Cheri, Shelly & Layla, Wanda, Helena & myself met at Jones Park. We enjoyed every minute of the hike. We did have to "build a bridge" with more stepping stones to cross the creek successfully. The spring flowers, including trillium's, were blooming or almost blooming. Lunch at Royal Indian Bar & Grill was successful too.

Next week we will hike at Pettus Hill Preserve at 135 Abbey Rd in West Windsor, as we expect today's summer-like weather will not last.

Thanks to everyone who joined us last week at our Spring Business meeting. The raffle baskets were a great success. We were especially thrilled to have our special guest, President D’Alleva! We elected our board for next year and Courtney officially passed the gavel to Jenae!
