Thank you to everyone that came out to support the 19th Annual John J. McKenna IV Memorial 5K!
Whether you walked or ran, performed, volunteered, watched the race, or more, it was an incredible day full of love and support. The race was nothing without the help of our volunteers from the Binghamton Rowing Club! And lastly, the committee would like to congratulate each winner, and to thank everyone again for everything this 19th annual... stay tuned for the 20th annual race next year!

TWO DAYS TO GO!! We can’t wait to see everyone this Sunday. Part of the great nature of this race is running with the whatever the Binghamton weather throws at us. Rain or shine we’ll still be there cheering on our runners

Registration is now live for the 19th Annual John J. Mckenna 5K! The race will be held on April 6th 2025, at Recreation Park in Downtown Binghamton. To sign up click the link in our bio! Register at least 3 weeks in advance and get a free shirt and a personalized bid. Military/veterans and Binghamton students receive a discount when registering.

John was a United States Marine, a New York State Trooper, and a beloved Captain of the Binghamton Rowing Club. 18 years ago this day, he was taken doing his duty to protect our country. Let us remember him for his smile today as he dedicated himself to peace and hope for all.

Happy Memorial Day!

On this Memorial Day, we honor those who have served our country. John served our United States Marines, making the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. We thank him and other veterans for their service. 🇺🇸

Whether you walked or ran, performed, volunteered, watched the race, or more, it was an incredible day full of love and support. The show of community was in full swing as people from all across the Northeast (and more!) came to honor John’s legacy. The race was nothing without the help of our volunteers from the Binghamton Rowing Club— they braved the cold and early hours of the morning to set this all up! And lastly, the committee (shown in the last slide) would like to congratulate each winner, and to thank everyone again for everything this 18th annual… stay tuned for the 19th annual race next year!

It’s RACE DAY!!!!!!! Check in starts at 8am, and lasts until 9:30am. Those of you that haven’t signed up yet can still register on-site until then. We hope to see everyone here today!!!!

ONE MORE DAY until the 18th annual John J. McKenna IV Memorial 5K!!!! The race will be taking walk-ons until 9:30am tomorrow, and will be held RAIN or SHINE. Race starts 10:15 AM!!!!! We love seeing the community come out to celebrate and honor John, who loved Binghamton as much as we all did. Registrations are LINKED in our bio, and we can’t wait to see you all tomorrow!!!

The 18th Annual John J. McKenna 5k is now TWO days away! As race day approaches, we’d like to bring out a photo from last semester, where the novice men’s squad rowed the McKenna boat, and won gold at the race. It is an honor to commemorate John’s memory with our team and the Binghamton community. And remember, registration is still live and we will take sign-ups until 9:30 AM, the morning of the race!
