Your support matters.

One former participant shared that they first came to the Broome County Urban League at 12 years old, later returned to mentor children in our summer program, and still looks back on their experience with fond memories decades later.

Stories like this remind me that the work we do is about more than programs. It's about creating a place where young people feel supported, encouraged, and empowered to grow.

Thank you to everyone who helps make that possible. Help us continue this work by supporting BCUL's programs and services at www.bcul.org.

Every child deserves a space where they can grow, learn, feel included, and have fun.

At the Broome County Urban League, youth programming is designed to support children academically, socially, and physically, including children with special needs. These programs are about more than activities. They are about confidence, connection, and opportunity.

I normally do not get on here to rant but I must because I am outraged!

I do not understand something. We have an elderly gentleman that we are working with to get him into an apartment. Unfortunately, during that time he ended up getting hospitalized for an illness. We provided the necessary paperwork so the hospital staff could speak with us as this gentlemen has no local family. Staff was even going to visit him in the hospital almost daily. We asked for a call when they had an idea of his discharge so we could better plan for an apartment move in and pick him up. Due to the rehab he required we were told discharge would be closer to August 1st. In the meantime we are still working on his apartment that we want to get him into. Well, I just got a call 10 minutes ago that this elderly man was discharged without a phone call to us and without anyplace to go! So we now have him at a shelter!

How can a hospital discharge someone with the health concerns that this man has with no address and verified place to live?

Anyone know of a decent efficiency or studio apartment, one floor that we can move this man into. Thanks

The Broome County Urban League extends our heartfelt gratitude to Linda and Thomas Cox who made a donation in loving memory of **Cameron Jones**.

Your generosity will support our summer program and help purchase life jackets for our young children coming to our summer camp. Your generosity is helping provide local children with opportunities to learn, grow, build friendships, and create lasting memories in a safe and supportive environment.

Cameron's memory will live on through the positive impact these gifts will have on the lives of young people in our community. We are deeply grateful for your kindness and compassion, and we continue to keep Cameron's family and loved ones in our thoughts and prayers.

Ever wonder what goes into making summer programs possible?

Behind every activity, field trip, meal, and moment of fun, there is planning, preparation, and a community of supporters who help make it happen. I’m grateful for everyone who continues to support the Broome County Urban League and the children and families served through our programs.

Thank you for helping me empower communities and change lives.
