Let's meet the cast of "Iolanthe"!

John H. Starks, Jr. (Lord Chancellor)

John is "highly susceptible" to "Iolanthe," his first G&S in college as some tenor peer or other 40ish years ago, now "Behold, the Lord High Ex*****on..." Oops, Chancellor. Started singing wrong role again, and on another continent. This makes his 17th, including as Richard Dauntless and Ruthven Murgatroyd/aka Robin Oakapple in "Ruddigore," Koko and Pish T**h in "Mikado," Pirate King, John Wellington Wells in "Sorcerer," Florian in "Princess Ida," Giuseppe in "Gondoliers," Capt. Corcoran in "Pinafore," Archibald Grosvenor in "Patience, and Thespis. He is happy to be performing again with partner Valerie Spiller (Fleta). He is Collegiate Professor in Newing College at Binghamton and Associate Professor of Latin and ancient Greek, specializing in ancient comic theater history, women, gender and sexuality studies, and race and ethnic studies of ancient North Africa and the Middle East.

Let's meet the cast/crew of "Iolanthe"!

Julia Adams (Iolanthe, Co-Director, Lead Costume Designer)

Julia is pleased to be once again directing for the Summer Savoyards. While she has loved G&S for as long as she can remember, she is thrilled to be bringing Iolanthe to life! “Iolanthe” was her first taste of G & S and remains her favorite. Julia is also playing the titular role of Iolanthe, one of her 'dream' roles. And if those two roles weren't enough, Julia is also Lead Costume designer. Julia has been a professional seamstress for the last 20+ years and the 1760s are a particular favorite. Thank you to her family and her boys, Kiernan and Graydan, for sharing this with her!

"Iolanthe" runs from Friday, July 10th, through Sunday, July 12th at Binghamton University's Anderson Center Chamber Hall. Performances on Friday and Saturday will be at 7:30pm and at 3pm on Sunday.

Let's meet the crew/cast of "Iolanthe"!

Charles Berman (Co-Director & "Private Willis")

Charles Berman was born and raised, and has previously been seen. He currently lives. Charles has appeared on stage with the Savoyards in "Arsenic and Old Lace,” “The Pl***oy of the Western World," and "London Assurance." But nothing by Gilbert and Sullivan -- he loves Gilbert and Sullivan too much to destroy their works with his "singing" voice. This is his first time stepping in to perform in an operetta! He has previously directed for the WHRW Radio eater Department, Endicott's Shakespeare in the Park, Darkhorse Dramatists, and Binghamton University, where he first worked with Julia when she designed his "Pippin" costume (cough) years ago.

"Iolanthe" runs from Friday, July 10th, through Sunday, July 12th at Binghamton University's Anderson Center Chamber Hall. Performances on Friday and Saturday will be at 7:30pm and at 3pm on Sunday.
