DSP Appreciation Week is Coming! ๐Ÿ’™

September is DSP Appreciation Week, and we want to celebrate the incredible Direct Support Professionals who make a difference in the lives of people every day.

Do you have a story, memory, message, or words of gratitude for a STIC DSP? Weโ€™d love to hear it! Share your appreciation with us by sending us a message here on Facebook.

Your words will be shared as part of our DSP Appreciation Week celebration! ๐Ÿ’™

Help us make September a month to celebrate the people who support, encourage, advocate, and empower others every single day. Letโ€™s show our DSPs how much they mean to us! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ’™

Alt Text: Word cloud featuring โ€œSupportโ€ and โ€œPeopleโ€ prominently, surrounded by terms related to disability support, relationships, ethics, rights, independence, family, and community.

๐Ÿ›‘In January, a cap was placed on the number of enrollees in the Nursing Home Transition Diversion (NHTD) Waiver. The waiver immediately hit capacity, and they have stopped accepting any new referrals.

โœ…๏ธThe NHTD Waiver was developed by the disability community to provide a unique and necessary set of community-based services.

โœ‹๐ŸปA.10403 (Paulin)/S.9573 (Rivera) creates a region-specific waitlist for the waiver. If this bill is not passed this week, people with disabilities and their families will spend the rest of the year wondering if they will ever be able to access these services.
