It is with great sadness that we let you know our friend and colleague, Maria O’Donovan, passed away. Maria was a longtime member of PAF. She received both her BA and PhD in Anthropology at Binghamton. She specialized in Northeastern historical archaeology, urban archaeology, landscape, and class, race, and gender relations in 19th century America. Her primary interest was the lives of Binghamton’s working class in the 19th century.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 29, at Chase Funeral Home, Port Dickinson, 737 Chenango St, Binghamton, NY 13901. Calling hours are from 10 - 11 am with a short religious service to follow. Attendees are welcome to share stories and memories of Maria.
