Yesterday was CCE Broome Nature Educator Tom Tasber’s 100th Lunch with Tom program! This month's featured species was the bobcat.

The program began on March 12, 2009 as the Senior Brown Bag Lunch at Finch Hollow, meeting quarterly. It moved to every other month in 2011, went monthly in 2016, and later relocated to CCE Broome. After a pause of about five years, it resumed in October 2022, and has run monthly and year-round since February 2023 under its current name.

Each program focuses on a different local species, and attendance has held steady at 60 to 70 people a month. That kind of consistency over 17 years says a great deal about Tom as an educator and about the community that keeps showing up for him.

Congratulations on 100 Lunch with Toms, Tom! We're grateful for every one of them.
