Faith in Action Volunteers had a wonderful afternoon celebrating "Thirty Years of Volunteers" honoring the incredible volunteers who make our mission possible every single day!

Our annual Volunteer Appreciation Picnic is a small way to say thank you to the dedicated individuals who so generously give their time, compassion, and support to our neighbors in need.

We’re excited to share some moments from the day! From laughter, fellowship, and meaningful connections to the delicious meal generously donated by Lupo's and MANNA of the southern tier, these photos capture the spirit of service and community that our volunteers bring every day.

CHOW Director Les Aylesworth was honored speak at the VAST Volunteer Administrators of the Southern Tier Lunch & Learning Day in Endwell yesterday!

Les was joined at the event by members of the Faith in Action Volunteers: Broome County Council of Churches Chapter team, Director Jaclyn Bombard and Christine Yannuzzi, and BCCC Community Impact Coordinator Colin Kelley.

The Broome County Council of Churches team enjoyed this wonderful opportunity to participate in an exchange of ideas on topics impacting volunteer managers at local non-profits. Thank you to VAST for including us!

Last week, Faith in Action Volunteers: Broome County Council of Churches had the pleasure of hosting our 27th Annual Lives of Commitment Breakfast. It was an inspiring morning honoring dedicated volunteers who humbly and selflessly serve within our community. Our 2026 award recipients were: Bob Kneer, BCCC honoree, Joe Burnett, FIAV honoree, and It's Raining Lemonade, community honorees. Keynote speaker Naima Kradjian gave an impactful speech about the importance of volunteering and giving back to the community that has been home to many of us for decades.

On Thursday, April 23rd, Faith in Action and Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways, Inc. came together for a wonderful evening of "Generations Together...Sharing Stories, Skills, and Smiles". The evening focused on FIAV clients and friends ages 60+ partnered with Binghamton area Girl Scouts for intergenerational relationship building through sharing a delicious meal, doing an arts and crafts project, and engaging discussion. We'd like to give our sincerest thank you and shout-out to MANNA of the southern tier and BIG ZUES Barbecue for their generous donation of food for our dinner and to Glovers Transport for providing transportation for our seniors. A wonderful time was had by all, wisdom was shared by both the youth and seniors, and BEAUTIFUL art was made.
