Today, Southern Door Community Land Trust was proud to partner with CARES for an incredible Backpack Giveaway and Community Cookout! From backpacks and school supplies to great food, laughter, music, and meaningful connections, this event brought our entire community together.
A huge thank-you to CARES for creating a day that was fun for the whole family and for making sure our children return to school prepared, confident, and ready to succeed.
CARES continues to show that schools must be more than places where children learn; they must also be trusted community resources where families can find support, opportunity, and connection.
That is a mission every community leader, advocate, organization, and neighbor should stand behind.
Every backpack placed in a child’s hands today carried more than school supplies, it carried encouragement, possibility, and a powerful message:
