The Sports Medicine Club at Binghamton University planned an event where they brought together club members to make homemade cards for children who are currently in the hospital. Over 50 homemade cards were donated to the UHS Foundation, which will go to UHS Wilson Medical Center’s North Wing 4.

Thank you, Alex and Maya, from the Sports Medicine Club for coordinating this and thank you to the rest of the members for your time and creativity in bringing some encouragement and positivity to our pediatric patients! 🫶❤

Team UHS came out this past Sunday to support Broome Oncology's Sock Out Cancer 5k at Otsiningo Park in Binghamton! 🧦

UHS was the Flagship Sponsor at the event and even with the rainy weather, over 400 runners and walkers came out to help raise funding to support local cancer patients and their families with non-medical needs like transportation, utilities and housing.

Proceeds from the event go to Sock Out Cancer and get divided up between the local hospital foundations. Since its inception, Sock Out Cancer, through the UHS Foundation, has financially assisted over 850 UHS cancer patients. Thanks to special events like this, the UHS Foundation can continue to provide support to those UHS cares for.💜

🎶 Music that makes a difference. 💙

Don't miss the 2026 Sock Out Cancer Benefit Concert on October 17 at 7 pm at the Broome County Forum Theatre. This year's theme, The Great American 250 Playlist, will feature timeless hits spanning decades of music. 🎤

Every ticket sold helps local cancer patients cover non-medical essentials like food, transportation, and housing, allowing them to focus on what matters most: their treatment and recovery.

Thanks to Sock Out Cancer's support, the UHS Foundation has helped 98 UHS cancer patients and provided more than $85,000 in assistance so far in 2026.

A heartfelt thank you to Abigail for her generous donation of activity books and writing utensils to the UHS Binghamton General Hospital Emergency Department! ❤

A recent graduate of Windsor Central School, Abigail participated in the New Visions Health Academy during her senior year. While shadowing in the Emergency Department, she recognized a need for activities that could help patients stay calm, engaged, and comforted during their visit. Inspired to make a difference, Abigail spent her summer raising funds to purchase and donate these much-needed items.

Thanks to her generosity, this donation will provide activity and comfort for up to 500 patients. 🙏

This fall, Abigail will attend the University of Rochester, where she will begin her journey toward becoming an Interventional Radiology Physician. Thank you, Abigail, for giving back to your local hospital and making a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients. We wish you all the best in college and beyond. Your future in healthcare is bright! 🩺✨

🥣 Every Bowl Made a Difference! ❤️

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, 399 tickets were purchased for the UHS Foundation’s 2026 Empty Bowl events, raising $8,000 for the Food Bank of the Southern Tier! Fighting food insecurity is a key focus for UHS and we are proud to help support our community in this way.

According to the Food Bank, food insecurity remains a critical issue in our region, with 1 in 7 individuals and 1 in 5 children in Broome County at risk of hunger. Every Empty Bowls ticket sold helps provide 60 meals for neighbors in need, making a meaningful impact right here in our community.

We are proud to support this important cause and grateful to everyone who attended. A special thank you to Compass Group, UHS employees, and Roberson Clayworks for your continued partnership and dedication to helping fight hunger in the Southern Tier.

Together, we're filling bowls, feeding families, and strengthening our community. 💙
