Today’s Back-to-School Giveaway at Greater Good Grocery is a reminder of what can happen when people decide to come together.

Seeing tables filled with notebooks, backpacks, pencils, personal care items and so many other necessities — and then seeing even MORE boxes and pallets waiting to be distributed — is incredible.

Every single item represents a child or family in our community receiving a little extra support as they prepare for a new school year.

We want to say THANK YOU to our sponsors, community partners, local businesses, volunteers and every person who donated. Whether you gave one item, a box full of supplies, your time, resources or simply shared our posts — you helped make this happen.

This is exactly why 1 Plate 1 Community exists.

When resources are shared, relationships are built and people work together, we can accomplish so much more than any one organization could accomplish alone. ❤️

Our Back-to-School Giveaway is **TOMORROW, August 19 from 5–7 PM at Greater Good Grocery**, and we're still collecting supplies!

Donations have been lighter this year, so we're asking our community to help us close the gap before tomorrow evening.

If you're out shopping today, could you grab **ONE extra item** for a local student?

Along with school supplies and other resources, families will have an opportunity to take home fresh locally grown produce while supplies last.

At 1 Plate 1 Community, we believe supporting our community means helping families beyond the dinner table. As another school year approaches, we’re coming together to help local children start the year with some of the essentials they need.

We are collecting NEW school supplies and personal care items leading up to our Back to School Giveaway on August 19th!

Needed items include backpacks, notebooks, folders, pencils, pens, crayons, markers, deodorant, body wash, wipes, tissues, socks and other school or personal care essentials.

Drop off a new school supply or personal care item at Big Zues Barbecue, 213 Chenango Street in Binghamton, during regular business hours and receive 10% OFF your meal as a thank-you for giving back!
