Economic security is the foundation of strong families. When Black women—who are so often the primary breadwinners, caregivers, and heartbeat of our homes—receive fair and equitable pay, entire communities thrive.

From our early childhood education classrooms to our Women in Construction program, we see the power and resilience of Black women every single day. Today, we stand in solidarity with the fight for wage equity because empowering women means building a stronger Gulf Coast for everyone. 💙

Congratulations to our Women in Construction graduate, Shalonda Jackson, on her 7-year anniversary as a shipfitter! 🛠️⚓

When Shalonda set her mind to a goal, she went straight into action. After completing our training program, she didn't stop there. Supported by our team—and driven by her own relentless discipline—she pursued advanced training on her own initiative and successfully joined the union!

Fast forward to today, and she’s celebrating seven incredible years in the trade. Shalonda, we couldn't be prouder of your dedication, hard work, and everything you’ve accomplished. Here’s to many more successful years as a skilled shipbuilder! 💪✨
