The Fisher House is a "comfort home" for Active Duty Military, Veterans and their families to stay while a loved one is being treated at the Medical Center and Veteran hospital DAFFH Mission Statement: Provide an outstanding temporary homelike haven for the Families of the Fallen and those undergoing medical treatment along with the family members and caregivers who accompany them to allow the war

fighters to fly, fight, and win. DAFFH Vision Statement: Compassionate professionals providing an unrivaled home away from home for Active Duty and Retired Military, Veterans, and their families or caregiver in their time of greatest need.

It has been a great week of meals for our guests here at Keesler Fisher House! Monday we had a volunteer from Community Relations donate trays of delicious lasagna (decimated!). Tuesday we had a volunteer from SAPR create an amazing parmesan chicken dinner with sides and dessert (gone!). Then, last night we a handful of volunteers from Keesler Medical Mental Health Clinic make up a taco bar (ate it up!).
We are always extremely grateful for every volunteer that comes through here and give their time. It makes a lasting impression on our guests and creates a stronger community betweenus all. 💪

On the menu tonight: roasted tomato and bell pepper sauce for a delightful pasta dinner and garlic bread ❤️ We had another wonderful group, visiting from Germany, come together to treat out guests for dinner. From our house to yours, thank you so much!

We had such a wonderful, energetic, and fun group of personnel tonight that made a HUGE dinner that consisted of baked potato bar, green beans, chicken curry and rice, picadillo, pizza, a caramel apple cookies. I know I'm forgetting something but wowzers! What a fantastic group ❤️ Thank you so much!!

With Memorial Day approaching, we are reminded that each fold of a flag holds meaning. The final fold however, the one right before the flag is cradled and handed to a grieving family, says what words cannot.

We pause in silence for the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We honor their memory, their families, and the weight of every fold that tells their story.

We will never forget.
