Hạ Viện Hoa Kỳ đã thông qua Đạo luật Save Our Shrimpers (SOS) với sự ủng hộ của cả hai đảng nhằm ngừng sử dụng tiền thuế của người dân Mỹ để hỗ trợ ngành tôm nước ngoài, trong khi ngư dân Mỹ đang gặp khó khăn.

Đây là bước quan trọng để bảo vệ ngư dân tôm và cộng đồng ven biển Hoa Kỳ. Dự luật hiện sẽ được chuyển sang Thượng Viện.

The U.S. House of Representatives passed the bipartisan Save Our Shrimpers (SOS) Act—a major step toward ending the use of U.S. taxpayer dollars to fund foreign shrimp competitors. At the same time, American sh*****ng families struggle to survive.

For years, international financing backed massive foreign shrimp expansion projects that flooded the market, depressed prices, and hurt hardworking U.S. shrimpers. The SOS Act sends a clear message: The U.S. opposes funding foreign shrimp production at the expense of American fishermen.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Congressman Troy Nehls and the bill’s bipartisan co-sponsors for standing with U.S. shrimpers and coastal communities.

The fight now moves to the Senate.
