Being a member of this group ...Daily Flowers of Love....is just one of the many ways Nate acted on his devotion to community, family and genuine kindness. He lived the vision of showing all those around them their worth daily. Whether it was great advice or encouraging words, showing up for friends and family or just simply in the way he saw and lived life. His wisdom and kind heart will be greatly missed by all who knew him. ๐Ÿ’”

You've Got Flowers would like to recognize Social Work Month.
Social Work Month in March is a time to celebrate the great profession of social work. The theme for Social Work Month 2021 is "Social Workers Are Essential".

Social workers are essential to community well-being.
As practitioners, social workers are trained to help people address personal and systemic barriers to optimal living. They are employed to effect positive change with individuals, families, groups and entire communities.

During Social Work Month take time to learn more about the many positive contributions of the profession, and use the items in our toolkit to celebrate all the social workers you know.

Daily Flowers of Love is pleased to present to you the second You've Got Flowers recipient, Ms. Inez Thomas!

Ms. Inez is a woman with a heart of rainbows and kindness, a woman who has not stopped being a supportive mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, a woman with a bold and kind spirit yet mysteriously intriguing calmness.

Ms. Inez has 4 boys, Charles, Calvin, Frank, and Rediar, and 1 girl, Jennifer. She has 17 grandchildrenโ€™s, 29 ยฝ great grandchildrenโ€™s and 4 great, great grandkids.

Ms. Inez started her first business in Biloxi in 1974, the Southern Kitchen, and closed her last restaurant Inez Cafรฉ and Lounge in 2017. Her enormous contributions to this community will never go UNNOTICED, she sponsored many of the Biloxi High basketball games, (she allowed team members to eat free), she was a member of the Elks club, faithfully attended First Missionary Baptist Church, she loved softball (even had her own local baseball team) and most importantly she would never let you go hungry. Even though she was closed on Thanksgiving Day, the doors to her home were open for those that needed a meal.

Iโ€™m sure we can speak on how she has affected each and every one of our lives in one way or another, but most importantly, is the communitiesโ€™ commitment to honor her for the contributions she has made to the city of Biloxi.

Daily Flowers of Love is pleased to present to you the first "You've Got Flowers" recipient, Mrs Flora Jackson!

Mrs Jackson, In recognition of the love and light you give to your family, friends and to the community."
You've GOT FLOWERS!

Mrs Jackson was visited by Ms Debra Foster, Florist and Keeper of the Garden for Daily Flowers of Love this past week.

During their visit Mrs Jackson shared with Debra fond memories of her late husband and icon to Ward 2 Biloxians, Mr Vernon Jackson Sr. as well as the family secret to avoiding COVID.

Mrs Jackson served 37 years at the Biloxi VA medical Center and 4 years at the Gulf Coast Convalescent Center. She currently serves as the Chair Lady of the Souvenir Book Committee for Biloxi Colored High A. E. Perkins, M.F. Nichols High, and Our Motherโ€™s of Sorrows.

Mrs Jackson is a long time member of the Main Street Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, President of the Junior, Chancellor and Senior choir.

Mrs Jackson enjoyed 54 years of marriage to the late Vernon O. Jackson Sr. and is the loving mother of 7 children, grandmother of 17 grandchildren, great grandmother of 9 great grandchildren.

Mrs Jackson, we pray this small token of the love and appreciation that your family and community have for your brings joy to your heart.

Our hope is to sow seeds of Joy, in the fields of the living and encourage our youth to harvest it's reward.

With all our Love
~Keepers of the Garden~
