Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch says multi-agency effort in Oxford rescued five victims and put seven suspects behind bars. Authorities say the coordinated effort targeted traffickers and aimed to identify and protect victims.

Operation Fins Up was carried out Sept. 24 and 25 by Fitch’s Human Trafficking Task Force with the help of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed an immigration detainer on one suspect pending release from state charges.

A few weeks ago, a friend of ours who is a Public Health Specialist for the state of Mississippi, called me asking about a bike for a client. Because of your donations, Bri DeRue was able to present Mr. Ray a new bike, helmet and bike lock from Peloton of Hope. As he continues to work towards restoring his life, getting his ID back, housing and job training, this bike will help him along the path of recovery. Thank you!

How are you, our faithful partners, being the hands and feet of Jesus? It looks like this….meet Jeremiah Johnson and his wife. They were in need and had a sign that said: “In need of a pair of shoes. Men’s size 11”. In the span of 20 minutes, they had a new backpack, snacks, water, socks, t-shirts, umbrella, rain poncho, hand wipes, chapstick and……you guessed it, a new pair of men’s size 11 sneakers. When I pulled up to give it to them they had been blessed with a meal from another sweet soul and were having a “picnic” under this tree. He asked if I would pray for them and I did. He said “I’m so thankful to the Lord that you stopped!” We were able to also to give them some information about Back Bay Mission where rhy can wash clothes, and get a meal. Thank you for your continued support.
