The 2026–2027 NextGEN Leadership Team is officially saddled up and ready for another great year! 🤠

This morning, our team gathered for our annual leadership retreat to set goals, plan events, build our calendar, and look ahead to another exciting year of creating opportunities for Billings’ young professionals.

Keeping with our western theme, we kicked off the day with a few fun surprises before diving into planning and collaboration.

We wrapped up our retreat with lunch at Montana Outlaw BBQ, where we learned more about the art of great barbecue from their team while enjoying some incredible food.

We’re excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to share everything we’ve been planning. Here’s to another year of connection, leadership, professional growth, and making an impact in our community!

One of the most rewarding parts of NextGEN isn’t just the opportunities or the experiences, it’s the people. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of celebrating life’s biggest milestones together: engagements, weddings, growing families, career changes, and even moves across the country.

Today, we celebrate another milestone as Bo Bruinsma begins his next adventure.

Bo has been an incredible leader, mentor, and champion for our community. As NextGEN Co-Chair, he has helped shape the organization through his vision, steady leadership, and genuine investment in the people around him. His impact extends far beyond NextGEN, leaving a lasting mark on our public schools and the Billings community as a whole.

While we’re sad to see him go, we’re excited to see what’s next. Thank you, Bo, for everything you’ve poured into this community and into the next generation of leaders. Your influence will be felt for years to come.

Summer officially kicked off tonight at NextHOUR, and we couldn’t have asked for a better evening!

A huge thank you to our incredible sponsors at Billings KOA Holiday for hosting us for an evening filled with great conversations and plenty of summer fun.

From Big Ts BBQ and cold Meadowlark Brewing beers to mini golf, sunshine, and networking, it was the perfect way to celebrate the season with fellow young professionals.

Fri-YAY!

Today, NextGEN members got a look at one of Billings’ greatest community assets, Dehler Park, home of the Billings Mustangs. From learning more about the stadium to connecting with fellow young professionals, it was a fantastic afternoon spent in a truly beautiful ballpark.

A huge thank you to the Billings Mustangs Professional Baseball for hosting us and generously providing tickets to tonight’s game. ⚾

Looking to grow your leadership skills and make a meaningful impact in Montana?

Wild Montana, a public lands advocacy nonprofit dedicated to protecting our state’s wild places and developing the next generation of leaders, has a few last-minute openings for an upcoming Leadership Training in Billings this weekend.

This hands-on experience is designed for individuals ready to step into leadership roles, with a focus on storytelling, community engagement, policy, campaign strategy, and grassroots organizing.

Training Schedule:
Friday, March 27th, 12:00–4:00 PM
Saturday, March 28th, 9:30 AM–4:00 PM
Sunday, March 29th, 9:30 AM–4:00 PM

Meals and refreshments are provided each day, and there is no cost to attend.
