The NILE Merit Heifer Legacy Program is officially open and ready to help you take the next step in building your beef cattle operation.
This program honors the vision of the late Bill Pelton—a true pioneer, innovator, and champion for youth in the beef industry. To continue Bill’s passion for supporting the next generation of cattle producers, funds are being made available to past recipients to help upgrade herd genetics and secure long-term success.
Financial Assistance Available For:
Purchasing a bull
Semen purchases
Embryo investments
Eligibility Requirements
To apply, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Eligible Classes: Must be a past NILE Merit Heifer recipient from the 2017–2022 program years.
Active Operation: Be actively building and maintaining a beef cattle herd.
Ag Goals: Submit short- and long-term goals detailing:
Plans for herd growth and retention
Ongoing commitment to the agriculture industry
Proof of Purchase: Provide documentation/proof of purchase for a bull, semen, or embryos.
Reporting: If selected, submit a detailed follow-up report on how the funds were utilized.
