Clean Energy Ambassadors

Clean Energy Ambassadors Organized by veterans in the public power and co-op sector, Clean Energy Ambassadors celebrates innovation and collaboration.

We support greater use of resources from utility associations, allied non-profits, government programs, and grassroots volunteers. And we celebrate your contributions to transforming community-based utilities for the 21st Century. Check out Clean Energy Ambassadors services:

• Cleanenergyambassadors.ning.com, where we update news, resources, and fun findings frequently—and you can, too
• Monthly

, free lunchtime webinars, on topics from “how to reach small business customers,” to “how to make energy audits more cost-effective”
• Leveraging existing resources—for example, supporting training to help you use Western’s Energy Services infrared camera loans or case studies that follow up on utility DSM themes.
• Presentations at statewide or regional meetings
• Specific expertise in working with public participation and community-based programs

Unlike conventional energy supplies, energy efficiency requires “human resources” in order to work. At a time when utilities and local governments are short-staffed, public involvement in the marketing and implementation of energy efficiency programs is key.

This will clear the way for more sustainable, cost-effective, and customer-friendly utility services everywhere, including your community. Learn how available load management and storage strategies may be used with savvy grid operations in order to address solar and wind variability. The Community Solar Value Project will feature two presentations from team experts at Olivine, one of the nation's first companies to bring solar-plus services to market. They will share fascinating experiences working with utilities, customers, and technology providers in California and beyond. They also will feature case studies of community scale demonstrations in Minnesota, West Virginia, and the Northeast.

Do you know a student (University/Graduate level) that would like to attend the ACEEE Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in Industry?

Linda Latham Scholarship Applications Now Being Accepted

Deadline: March 23, 2015

ACEEE is proud to announce that applications for Linda Latham Scholarships to attend the 2015 Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in Industry are now being accepted and may be submitted online.

The Linda Latham Scholarship fund was established in memory of Linda Latham who served as ACEEE's Chief Operating Officer until her untimely death in September 2011. Linda believed that students bring talent and creativity to the field of energy efficiency especially if we provide a venue to inspire and educate them.

To be eligible, the applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited college or university whose course work is related to energy/energy efficiency, climate change, environmental science, or a related field of study, and who is considering a career in energy/energy efficiency. "Latham Scholars" will be exposed to new ideas and opportunities as they interact with energy efficiency experts from around the world. In turn, Summer Study attendees will be able to meet these exceptional students, a reciprocal opportunity for all!

For the 2015 Summer Study, the Linda Latham Scholarship fund will award scholarships to students at three different levels. Level 1 awardees will receive a full conference registration, housing and meals, and up to $500 toward their transportation costs. Level II scholars will receive a full conference registration and housing and meals. Level III winners will receive a full registration to the conference. More Level III scholarships will be available than Level II and more Level II scholarships than Level I. Therefore, chances of selection will be highest at Level III and lowest at Level I.

Applications are being accepted until March 23 either online or by completing this form and emailing it to [email protected]. Applications must be submitted with required attachments including a copy of the applicant's Student ID and proof of student status (unofficial transcript/enrollment for current semester). No applications will be accepted after the March 23, 2015 deadline. Applications will be reviewed and chosen by a committee of ACEEE staff.

Scholarship winners will be notified beginning April 1, 2015.

Please contact [email protected] if you have any other questions. To read about the 2013 scholarship recipients to the "Industry" Summer Study, visit http://aceee.org/conferences/2015/ssi/scholarships.
