Our membership includes Porsche enthusiasts from central and eastern Montana and northern Wyoming, with a concentration in the Billings area. If you have a Porsche automobile and live within our region we'd love to invite you to come by introduce yourself and learn about the fun and exciting events we have planned in our region each year. The region is named after the Absaroka Range, a sub-range of the Rocky Mountains. The range stretches across the Montana-Wyoming border, forming the eastern boundary of Yellowstone National Park and the western side of the Bighorn Basin. The range borders the Beartooth Mountains to the north and the Wind River Range to the south. The range is named after the Crow Indians called the Apsáalooke in their native language, or "children of the large-beaked bird." Most of the Absaroka Range lies within protected lands including Yellowstone National Park, the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness, North Absaroka Wilderness, Teton Wilderness, and Washakie Wilderness. The region is home to one of the most beautiful driving roads in the US; Highway 212 from Billings, Montana to Yellowstone National Park which climbs over Beartooth Pass 10,947 ft in the neighboring Beartooth Mountains before winding through the Absarokas to the northeast gate of the park. It is only open during the summer. The Absaroka Region covers the following counties in Montana and Wyoming:
