MetraPark will mark 50 years of serving Yellowstone County in 2025. In anticipation of this milestone, the MetraPark Advisory Board and MetraPark leadership began a process in early 2020 to develop a new Master Plan for MetraPark. The Master Planning process is designed to reimagine the complete 189-acre campus, adding new facilities and amenities, improving upon the assets already in place, and c

reating a world-class experience that sets MetraPark apart as a unique destination and tourism magnet for the region. As Yellowstone County looks to kick start our economy, post-pandemic, we want to position MetraPark to take advantage of this rare moment to anticipate new trends in events and entertainment, identify and respond to community needs, and invest in a MetraPark that can drive our region’s economy for decades to come. MetraPark is here to serve the community – which means that the community must lead the process to create the new vision.

Hey y'all! Did you know that as part of MetraPark Vision 2025 we're looking at potentially including a new multi-purpose Ag and athletics arena? One that would maybe even include a default dirt floor? For those wondering why that might matter or why it's even an interesting concept at all should check out this editorial by Tim Goodridge. He dishes the dirt on dirt, and it's weirdly fascinating!

I’m back this week to really dish up the "dirt" on dirt. Most people don’t know what it takes to transform MetraPark from hosting Professional Bull Riders to basketball games

"When this place is full, there is no more fun place on the whole planet..." We agree with you, Mr. Editor! It's so worth listening to this great reminiscence from Chris Jorgenson. It makes us so proud!

Get ready for a completely new First Interstate Arena experience! We plan to double the size of the concourse to reduce congestion, add another elevator and create an inviting lobby space to enjoy cocktails and mingle before events.

Have you ever seen that blur zooming through the MetraPark Campus during Montana Fair and wondered if you caught a glimpse of the Flash? You didn't, but what you saw was our own wonder-woman, Connie Watts dashing around coordinating all of the livestock and static exhibit entries and the shows for the week! Imagine! And want to know the most surprising thing? MontanaFair planning isn't just a seasonal gig - it takes ALL YEAR! Her favorite thing about the job? That everyday is different and nothing is expected. Our favorite things about Connie? The amazing work she does, her great attitude and her great family: her husband Jack, 1 silly dog and 3 adorable dwarf goats!

We printed over 1,000 brochures to hand out at our trailer at the fair this year and gave away every. single. one. Did you stop by to see us? What was the most exciting or surprising thing you learned?

It's hard to imagine a job so full of variety, the unexpected and the amazing that you literally would never want to retire. Randy Pardis joined MetraPark facilities a year after it opened and tells such an amazing story. Take a quick a listen! It's so great!
