Tom and Carol built their lives around family, hard work, community, and adventure. After retirement, they began thinking about how their resources could provide financial security for the future while also making a meaningful difference for others.
In 2006, they donated a portion of a property to establish a Charitable Remainder Trust with Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch Foundation. The trust provided dependable retirement income while creating future support for young people receiving care through Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch.

💛 Every student's path toward healing looks different.
At Yellowstone Academy, therapist Jasmine Hanson helps students build confidence, manage anxiety, strengthen daily living skills, and navigate challenges through individual and group therapy.
Located on the grounds of Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch in Billings, Yellowstone Academy offers access to experiences like equine-assisted therapy, therapy dogs, and movement-based activities that help students connect, build skills, and engage in treatment.
In this video, Jasmine shares what it's like to watch students find their courage, communicate their needs, support one another, and recognize just how far they've come.

💛 A meaningful milestone for youth and families in Boulder.
Yellowstone Foundation is grateful to the donors, partners, and community supporters who helped make the new New Beginnings Group Home possible. This investment expands access to structured, supportive care and gives more Montana youth the opportunity to receive services closer to home.

🎉🌶️ Our biggest Yellowstone Chili Cookoff yet!

The 5th Annual Yellowstone Chili Cookoff Presented by Hedge Wagner Group Merrill Institutional Consulting raised an incredible $56,903 and welcomed approximately 410 guests! ❤️

That's up from $43,594 and 352 attendees last year! Seeing this event grow year after year is a testament to the generosity and support of our amazing community.

Every ticket purchased, sponsorship given, bowl of chili served, and hour volunteered helped make this possible. We are so grateful to everyone who continues to show up and support Yellowstone Foundation!

Proceeds from this year's Cookoff will support programs like Animal Therapy, Vo-Ag and Vo-Tech Education, and upgrades to the Dining Hall on YBGR's main campus.

Five years of chili, community, and making a difference. Thank you for being part of it! 🙌❤️

💛 Exciting progress for youth and families in the Gallatin Valley.
The new Gallatin Campus will help expand access to behavioral health services and create more opportunities for Montana kids to receive care closer to home and their communities.

🧵 A warm hug from a stranger.

The quilting ladies of Scobey Lutheran Church recently donated 80 beautiful quilts and 6 blankets to Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch. These handmade gifts will be given to youth when they enter YBGR’s residential treatment program in Billings and group homes across Montana.

Each quilt is theirs to keep—during their time at YBGR and when they leave.

More than just a blanket, each quilt carries a message from someone they may never meet:

“You matter. You are cared for. You are not alone.” ❤️

Thank you to the generous women of Scobey Lutheran Church for wrapping Yellowstone youth in warmth, comfort and kindness. What a beautiful gift!
