đź’› Community support makes a visible difference.

Yellowstone Foundation is grateful to the Leadership Billings volunteers from the Billings Chamber of Commerce for spending the morning serving at Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch.

As the remodel of Dorothy’s Lodge nears completion, volunteers helped prepare the space for youth by taking on dust, deep cleaning, and the extra care needed before the boys return. Their work also supported rooms used by youth in the Chemical Dependency Program, helping create a clean and welcoming environment.

Their energy, attention to detail, and thoughtful questions showed a true commitment to understanding the impact of their service.

Partnerships like this help strengthen the spaces where youth receive care, build stability, and continue moving forward.

🎨🪵 Creativity and confidence take shape in many ways at Yellowstone Academy.

Yellowstone Foundation is proud to support opportunities that help youth discover their abilities, build confidence, and take pride in what they create.

This Mickey Mouse creation, built by a talented student in Woodshop with Mr. Sipes, reflects more than craftsmanship. It represents patience, imagination, and the confidence that grows when youth are encouraged to learn new skills in a supportive environment.

Programs like Woodshop give students the opportunity to explore creativity while developing practical skills and a sense of accomplishment. From beginner projects to detailed creations, every step forward matters and every skill level is valued.

🎓 Today marked a significant event at the Ranch—a moment years in the making. Five remarkable students graduated from Yellowstone Academy.

What these kids earned was more than a diploma.

It was a hard-won victory—a testament to perseverance, growth, and the power of care.

John Boeder, Yellowstone Academy Chaplain, and Cass Cole, Principal, opened the ceremony, setting the tone for the celebration. Staff who stood beside our graduates through seasons of change and growth shared moving reflections on their journey:

Richard Feely, Music Teacher
Kory Johnson, Paraeducator
Bobby Sipes, Teacher
Jose Reyes, Behavior Specialist

The graduates left their mark, and a quote of wisdom for others:

"For many of us, the true road is a difficult one, but the path is always there to follow, no matter how many times we fail." —Joshua Graham

"Take pride in how far you've come. Have faith in how far you can go. But don't forget to enjoy the journey." —Michael Josephson

Superintendent Keith Tresch handed out the diplomas, and Dwight Von Schriltz, Director of Special Education Services, presented the newly graduated students, marking both an ending and a beginning.

From all of us at YBGR and Yellowstone Academy—congratulations, graduates!

👏 We believe in each of you and your futures.

💛 “You can do this. Life gets better. People care about you.”

And underneath, another message appeared.

“I am going to try.”

At Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, moments like these quietly reflect the power of encouragement, connection, and hope. What may look like simple graffiti becomes something much deeper. A reminder that words matter and that support can reach someone at exactly the right moment.

Healing often begins with small steps. Sometimes, it begins with simply deciding to try.

Yellowstone Foundation is proud to support the spaces and programs where youth can feel seen, supported, and encouraged to keep moving forward.

đź’› The people behind the care make all the difference.

In this video, Josie Smart, a registered nurse at Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, shares what it means to her to support youth through some of their most challenging moments.

From daily health needs to critical assessments, nurses like Josie play a vital role in creating stability and safety for the youth in care. Just as important, they bring compassion, consistency, and a grounded presence, helping young people navigate difficult emotions and begin building healthy coping skills.

At Yellowstone Foundation, we’re proud to support the programs and professionals who make this level of care possible. Their impact reaches far beyond the campus shaping lives, strengthening families, and building skills that last a lifetime.

Because when youth are supported by dedicated individuals, real growth can happen.

đź’› Strong teams create stronger communities.

At Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, the Miles City team continues to make a meaningful impact for youth and families across Miles City, Glendive, and Colstrip. Team members like Tricia Warmbrod, Kelly Althoff, and Colton Crow help create a culture rooted in support, connection, and shared purpose.

Positive environments do not happen by accident. They are built through trust, encouragement, and leadership that values both celebration and honest conversation. That kind of culture helps strengthen the care provided to youth and families every day.

Yellowstone Foundation is proud to support the programs and resources that allow dedicated teams like this to continue making a difference across Montana communities.
