Today was the annual Celebrating Women Veteran’s event. The speakers were inspiring. The lunch was delicious and we honored Robin Price as the first recipient of the Evelyn Whiteway memorial award. Evelyn was planning this event until her unexpected passing earlier this year and the veterans office has created this award in her memory. Thank you to the Town of Billerica, MA for their support, Veteran Pathways of New England for providing lunch and Billerica Veterans Services for the inspiration and unending support!

The Memorial Day ceremony will take place at noon time, indoors at the Town Hall.

Due to the expected rain, the Billerica Memorial Day Ceremony scheduled for 12:00 PM has been moved indoors to Billerica Town Hall.

While the location may change, our purpose does not.

This Memorial Day, we will still come together as a community to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Roses of Honor at Fox Hill Cemetery is still expected to take place the same day, weather permitting, as long as the rain is not coming down hard.

We thank everyone for their understanding and continued support as we pause to remember those who gave everything for our freedom.

We remember.
We honor.
We never forget.

This Memorial Day, while there will not be a parade in Billerica, the Billerica Honor Platoon has worked to create meaningful opportunities for the community to come together in remembrance and honor of our fallen heroes.

In lieu of a parade, we invite the community to take part in our Roses of Honor tribute at Fox Hill Cemetery.

Much like Wreaths Across America, this program is built around remembrance, reflection, and honoring those who gave their lives in service to our nation. Instead of wreaths, roses will be placed by hand at the graves of our fallen veterans—each one representing a life remembered, a sacrifice honored, and a story that will never be forgotten.

Following the placement of roses, attendees will gather for a Procession of Honor led by the Billerica Police Department to the Memorial Day Ceremony.

Memorial Day Graveside Services

On Sunday, May 24, our community will come together to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the United States of America.

As we approach the 250th anniversary of our nation, we pause to reflect on the generations of Americans who stood in defense of freedom — from the earliest days of the Revolutionary War to the service members of today.

Please join us for Memorial Day Graveside Services beginning at 10:00 AM at VFW Eggo Post located at 775 Boston Road.

From there, we will visit the following locations:

• Korean War Memorial
• Concord Road Cemetery
• Vietnam Veterans Park
• VFW Solomon Park
• Burying Ground
• Old North Cemetery
• Fox Hill Cemetery

These ceremonies serve as a reminder that freedom has never been free, and that the sacrifices of our fallen heroes will never be forgotten.

We encourage all members of the community to attend and help us honor those who gave everything for our country.

The Billerica Honor Platoon is proud to host a special Women Veterans Luncheon honoring the service, sacrifice, and contributions of the women who have served our nation.

This free event is an opportunity for women veterans to come together for an afternoon of camaraderie, recognition, and community connection in a welcoming and supportive environment.

We are honored to partner with the Massachusetts Women Veterans Network and Clear Path for Veterans New England for this meaningful event.

This Memorial Day, the Billerica Honor Platoon invites the community to take part in our Roses of Honor tribute at Fox Hill Cemetery.
